From a news item on Wednesday March 27th 2024, Jordan North, a researcher and blogger reported that he had taken up vaping  to help himself give up cigarettes only to find himself reliant on both. He was not a happy bunny with this outcome.

Then being somewhat confused over the conflicting reports about the vaping potential for harm popcorn lung etc, this led to him examine the evidence both for himself and for a BBC3 documentary he was working on.

From his own experience, he found that while vaping did help him to cut back on cigarette smoking. He also discovered that he was vaping more in a day than he previously would have smoked. This led him to conclude that he may just have swapped one bad habit for another. This at a time when vaping in the UK, was tripling over a ten year period.

A well known saying accredited to Eldridge Cleaver, the one time Black Panther leader, seems apt when he said that “either you are part of the solution, or you are part of the problem”.
