THE SCOTTISH COLLEGE OF COMPLEMENTARY MEDICINE

The Scottish College of Complementary Medicine was founded in 1986 by Ruth Chappell and Brian Fleming, two very experienced practitioners and educationalists. The Scottish College of Complementary Medicine is the longest established and best known training centre for holistic therapies in Scotland. Since the mid 1980's almost a thousand practitioners have graduated from the College and although the majority of our students come from Scotland, we also have students come to the College from much further afield.

The College aims to present natural therapy skills for use in a field which spans the hospital, hospice and private practice and to involve students in a dynamic learning process which will enable them to develop the competence and confidence to work as practitioners of holistic medicine. It also provides further education opportunities and continuing professional development for graduates through its Therapeutic Skills Seminars and in partnership with the Association of Medical Aromatherapists and Reflexologists, works to help develop public awareness of safe, ethical and professional holistic medicine.

Our courses provide an option for change and personal development, whether a student is thinking of a completely new career, or adding new skills in a career that is already established. With a very large percentage of the UK population now using holistic/complementary medicine for at least part of their health care, there has never been a better time to train to become a therapist.
