Acupuncture Glasgow
Acupuncture is a system of healing which while fairly recent in the Western world, has been practised in China and the Far East for thousands of years. Often seen as being a system of pain relief, Acupuncture is in fact used to treat people with a broad spectrum of medical conditions. In a busy Acupuncture clinic, an acupuncturist will commonly support conditions ranging from asthma, arthritis and anxiety, to back pain, depression, preconception care, fertility, infertility, menstrual problems, skin conditions, migraines, rheumatism, high blood pressure and circulatory problems.
In recent years Acupuncture has begun to feature more prominently in mainstream healthcare in conjunction with western medicine.
Acupuncture and Infertility
Both stress and hormonal imbalance are thought to contribute to fertility issues, and at the clinic both of these issues are supported with Acupuncture.
Acupuncture may also have benefits for men with fertility problems, with possibly improving both semen quality and sperm count.
A recent German study found that using Acupuncture with IVF treatments achieved a 42% clinical pregnancy rate in the test group, compared to only 26% in the control group who were not given acupuncture. This success rate has been demonstrated to increase to 60% when both acupuncture and herbs were given with IVF. IT was also found that when acupuncture and herbs were used throughout the pregnancy, the risk of miscarriage was signicantly reduced. It was also observed that women who had received IVF unsuccessfully on a number of occasions, soon became pregnant under an Acupuncture regime.
